An hour's sketch from last night. Three conte sticks on A2 size paper. I was going for a speedy fluid look - and the dogs came out perfectly, the horse however came out kind of overworked IMO. I like it anyway, so here it is.

My reference was many thanks to Caballos Mayoral on Facebook, used with kind permission of course!: [link]

Wow! Beautiful job! I love how you had the dogs match the coloring of the horse :)

Thanks so much! :) I actually really enjoy drawing dogs, their anatomy and musculature is so fluid and powerful in motion, perhaps even more so than horses. I ought to draw more of them.

I love the way dogs run, it's so beautiful. I know what you mean. Horses are very beautiful in their running too though. I also love the running motion of things like deer.

:D I love that photo - so funny!
it's come out well. The hind legs are possibly a little less convincing than the fore on the horse, but the dogs definitely have good capture :)

Haha me too. Thanks! Yeah the hind legs bugged me as well but I don't know why, they might be a little unsubstantial. Ah well. The dogs are my favourite here!

Wow, it's really cool what you can do within one hour! There's so much movement and dynamics, I just love it!
I feel a little bit sorry for the horse, though... People shouldn't let their dogs run off-leash where they can scare horses and other animals.

Thank you so much :) Glad you like! Aw, I think in a lot of cases the horses are used to it... I know for example where this photo was taken, dogs are part of life on the farm, the horses probably know of them from a young age ;)
