Because it reminds me of summer fruits! And the sun has finally decided to make a belated appearance in the UK. :w00t:

A3 pastels and Derwent sketching pencils on velour paper.

The velour paper is lemon yellow, but you can't really tell anymore as I covered most of it up - although it did influence the background colour choices.

Thank you very much :) Hmm... I'd guess around eight hours, give or take an hour. It is so hard to say because I always forget to time myself unless it's a quick one! I tend to work fairly fast.

This turned out very nicely indeed. Love the vibrancy of it!

The eyes are one of my favourite things about your work. They're always really expressive and soft. And I really love the cast shadows on the face. It's an odd little thing, I know, but they're really well done.

If I may mention one thing where there's space for improvement, for future arab faces, I think the jibbah could extend slightly further down the face, to balance out the length of the head. But that's only a minor thing.

This is a beautiful piece.

Thanks v much :)
She does have a trumpet-style seahorse face lol. I was trying something out but kind of got the measurements off. You know those slightly stylised portraits of modern typey Arabians with really pronounced dishes? I was thinking of those... it perhaps doesn't suit my style, lol.
